TWD: The Death of Daryl Dixon

The final scene of Sunday’s Walking Dead episode has struck fear into the hearts of fans everywhere. So, is Daryl dead? Let’s take a few things into consideration and look at the possibilities of his death, and the likelihood that our crossbow-killing machine is alive and well.

You may have heard the rumors buzzing around that Daryl is likely to take Glenn’s place as the major death in the season finale. Rumors, however, are generally just chatter and rarely carry any real weight behind them. That being said, you do need to consider that the death of Daryl is not as far fetched as it may sound. Though he is a major character to us, he is not in every single episode of the series, and doesn’t exist in the graphic novels. This makes him an easy replacement death for any of the other major characters the writers may choose to keep past their novel life. We would not be missing any background or history on Daryl as it doesn’t exist aside from the life writers have given him.

Taking that into consideration, we can argue that Daryl Dixon is one of the series major moneymakers. He brings in thousands of viewers alone and his face, along with Rick and Michonne’s, are the faces of the series. However, this doesn’t take away from the fact that he is a much easier target then he appears to be for writers.

Arguably, the last words we heard in this week’s episode were from Dwight saying, “You’ll be alright.” This can mean one of two things; the first being that Daryl will in fact be alright because the shot was just to wound him, or it may have been sarcasm because Dwight just blew his brains out. The likely hood of Daryl being dead at this time would appear slim because we are well aware of the fact that the major character death is supposed to come from Negan and his infamous barbed wire baseball bat, Lucille. You still have to be prepared for the possibility that we may lose more than one character in the wake of Negan’s reign.

In my knowledgeable opinion, I would tell you to CALM THE FUCK DOWN, Daryl isn’t dead… yet.
