Batman, aka Bruce Wayne is certainly a complex one when it comes to breaking down his character. While he can be dark and serious, he also possesses some pretty great traits that we can dig deep and incorporate into our own selves. No billion dollars or heartbreaking back story necessary! Here are three Batman characteristics we can all benefit from…

1. Batman is passionate and persistent when it comes to what he believes in
Let’s face it. When our favorite caped crusader gets his mind-set on something, he stops at nothing to complete the task at hand. While most of us aren’t going to be taking down the bad guys, we can channel this passionate and persistent attitude into our day-to-day lives for what we believe in. Do you have a cause that’s near and dear to you? Let’s say shelter pets or feeding hungry kids. Just imagine what you can do to help your favorite charity if you put forth just a fraction of that Batman spirit behind you! Is there a particular goal you’ve set for yourself? Persistence is everything so stay the course and never give up!

2. Batman has unwavering courage
Just about everything we’ve ever tried took courage. Starting a new job; Attending a networking event; Going to the gym for the first time; Asking your crush out for coffee. Lots and lots of courage needed for sure! Well if Batman can rush head on into danger without fear than I’m sure we can manage to find a little bit of that courage within ourselves to create the life we want and to be successful and happy. This is definitely the area I’ve needed to work on the most. I’ve been a bit of a scaredy cat a good part of my life. It’s taken a lot of practice but I’m getting much better at not letting fear be my nemesis anymore!

3. Batman takes great care of his physical self
Okay, I’ll be the first to say I’ll never be as buff as Batman or have the wicked ninja skills he possesses. What I do have is a strong desire to be a healthy person and feel great both inside and out. Batman could never accomplish all those daring feats and keep his city free from villains without his incredible strength and stamina. Why do you want to stay strong and be healthy? To have more fun with your friends and family; To accomplish a big fitness goal; To score better on next year’s annual physical. Whatever it is you know what you’ve got to do. Move that body more and make better food choices. Ask yourself, would Batman take a walk or just stay seated? Would Batman eat the junk food or the lean protein and vegetables? We know, we all know!

There you have it. Passion, persistence, courage and strength. We don’t need one cent of Bruce Wayne’s billions to bring these Batman characteristics into our own lives!
