The league will start in August and will unfold over the course of 20 weeks in three phases:
- Mountain Dew Last Chance Qualifier. From August 27 to August 28, any player who missed out on the ongoing qualification process this season will have one last chance to make it into the Mountain Dew League.
- Mountain Dew League Season. Following the Last Chance Qualifier, those 24 teams will play each other once a week over the course of 8 weeks to determine ranking.
- Mountain Dew Championship. In December, the eight best teams in each region will compete in an international tournament to be crowned the champion of the MDL. The top North American team and European teams will earn a spot at the ESL Pro League.
Throughout the tournament, DEW will be providing the competing gamers with the top tools and training – including access to online tutorials and tips from the pros. As for fans, they will be able to watch the competition unfold through live-streamed events, behind-the-scenes action and real-time stat tracking via ESEA and Twitch channels.
