Activision and Bungie confirm new content is on the way for Destiny players.

Today Activision held their Q4 earnings call. With that came a little bit of information for what’s in store for Destiny. Many players have been hoping to get top secret clearance for Bungies highly secretive plans regarding Destiny’s future.

Destiny will be expecting a large update during 2016. With plans to launch their full sequel Destiny 2 in year 2017.

A little after Activision confirmed the plan for Destiny’s future, Bungie released their “This week at Bungie” update. Going into more detail Deej confirmed Activisions timeline. Some time in spring 2016 Destiny is due for an update that will bring on new weapons, gear, higher light level, and more importantly new PvE content. Following that will be the large update due later in 2016. We will also continue to see events from the live team and updates to Destinys micro transactions (confirmed during the Q&A portion of the Activision earnings call).

This is a “glimmer” of hope for Destiny players who have been itching for some new content. Earlier this week Bungie released a new event Crimson Days that many believe could hold us over until their next major update to the game. Unfortunately the event has gotten mixed reviews from the community. With just a few bounties and no new weapons or gear players are forced to grind for nothing but shaders and a (very unlikely) chance at a 320 ghost. Events like these can be fun but are short lived and I know we all want more. So keep an eye out for some more info that is sure to be released from Bungie to give us some more details of the future. Until then go grab another guardian and play some Crimson Doubles and don’t forgetĀ Iron Banner returns on February 23rd, 10AM to February 29th, 1AM PST.
