New Releases Coming this Friday to a theater near you!

It wont really matter what I write here this week… there is only one movie that everyone and their brother’s sister’s best friend is going to see this weekend.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – (PG)

A continuation of the saga created by George Lucas and set thirty years after Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983).

It has been estimated based on the pre-sales of the opening weekend tickets, that this rendition of the Star Wars franchise will net close to $100 million in the opening weekend in North America. It is expected to beat the all time record that Avatar currently holds with $2.8 billion in worldwide sales. Much will depend on how the coming weekend goes, if the fans are pleased it will be an out of this world hit. If they get a few bad reviews to hit the social media world, then who knows how much power the Star Wars brand has to push by it. In my experience one bad review goes viral and the rest of the lemmings follow. In any case my opinion on the file is that from the trailers that I have seen and the reputation of Disney and Mr. Abrams in general, this film will be epic and will live up to the expectations set by the masses.
