I happened to come across a game titled “Rebel Galaxy” in a post somewhere this week. The name grabbed my attention and the site was easy enough to find, so I figured I would check it out. A quick YouTube search netted me this video.

The score? Fantastic. The graphics? Epic. The gameplay? Looks legendary. I am hooked and I have not even installed the game yet. A quick perusal of their website gave me a basic understanding of the game and what it aims to provide. To me it bears a striking resemblance to our favourite passed over sci-fi series. I cannot wait to immerse myself in the game to see if the characters resemble any of the characters from the show, (even though I am sure they do not) I won’t be able to stop myself from comparing them. The video provides a small sample of some in game dialogue, from which it sounds like there is quite the back story to accompany the game. Look for the follow up review once I get my hands on a copy.

Rebel Galaxy

was released on October 20, 2015 for PC through the Steam and GOG for under $20, it seems almost criminal to buy it. I personally want to wait for the PS4 release, which is slated for later this year (along with the Xbox One and Mac versions).

The official game description from Steam reads as follow:

Rebel Galaxy is a swashbuckling space adventure, with action-packed combat, exploration, discovery, trade, and “negotiation” with the outlandish denizens at the edge of the known universe.
